"Trevor?" The frantic voice rang through the corridors. Neville Longbottom was searching everywhere for his pet toad Trevor. The one he had since before he even started Hogwarts. He was old and Neville was surprised he even bothered to escape this time. The poor thing was losing its vibrant green color and croaked less and less every day. Besides that, it was the first time he'd escaped in almost a year!
"Trevor? C'mon boy." He noticed he was missing earlier during class. Sure. Students weren't supposed to have their pets with them in class. But Trevor hardly minded residing in the pocket of his robes while he busied himself with his own work. He kept quiet most of the time, too. Only a few people noticed the toad was even with him.
"I've got some crickets, Trev. I just caught 'em. They're fresh." He didn't care the looks he was getting from his fellow students. They knew Neville Longbottom. His damn toad was missing, too. He shook the chirping jar in his hand. He spent a good hour searching the grounds for them when he discovered the missing toad.
"Trevor?" Neville called out his name several more times as he wondered the corridor. He was getting worried. Trevor was small. He could easily get stepped on. "Has anyone seen Trevor? Y'know, my toad? Small? Green?" He asked a group of students. All of them shook their heads no. Their eyes were on the chirping jar of crickets with looks of disgust. And as he walked away, he could hear laughter. He his turned red at the sound. All he wanted was Trevor back. Was that too much to ask?
He ignored the laughter and walked faster. Trevor wouldn't want to be near people like that. "Trevor? Lunch time!" He shook the jar once more. Not that he could hear the shaking of the jar. It did make the crickets chirp louder.

'Trevor?' She heard a frantic voice say. She sighed. 'Neville's lost his toad...again.' She thought. She turned the corner to see him holding a jar full of chirping bugs, 'crickets.' She though, she tucked a piece of straggling brown hair behind her ear. "Neville, do you need help looking for Trevor?" She asked politely. Her brown eyes warm and welcoming.
She stood at no taller then 5'4, her robes fell to her ankles, fluttering as she walked, her gray thigh highs met the ending of her plaid skirt, which had a white button down shirt tucked inside. Red and gold, Gryffindor colors is what the tie implied, it wasn't fit tightly around her neck, but it also wasn't loose, just neat and orderly. Her brown slightly frizzy hair fell down a little past her shoulders.
Straight white teeth held behind thin pink lips showed through. "Trevor?" She called out looked around the hallway for the little green toad. "Trevor, where are you?" She probably sounded like a fool, a smart girl calling out to an animal that wasn't ever going to call back. She stayed silent for a moment, closing her almond shaped eyes and listening for a ribbet, or whatever sound a toad made. She sighed.
"Neville how do you manage to loose Trevor so often, doesn't he have a cage?" She asked politely, not rudely, kids walking by, probably to lunch. They looked at Neville and her with odd looks. They'd probably been thinking 'What are they doing.' She hadn't been too concerned with the looks, she hadn't cared much of what people thought.
She searched behind a vase, and then behind the stand the vase resided on. "Neville, have you tried the accio charm?" She asked him still looking for the frog behind whatever possible.
ooc// if you can't summon Trevor with accio, then disregard that.

Neville was frantically looking behind tapestries are suits of armor for any signs of Trevor. He's abandoned his backpack and cloak a little ways down the hall. He had no worries anyone would steal it. It bag was filled with loose sheets of parchments and books. And the only person that could get much use out of his cloak was a Gryffindor.
His head jerked when he heard his name being called. "Would you, Hermione?" He asked politely to the fellow Gryffindor. She always seemed to show up at the first moment to help him. Even in class she was known to save hit butt many times.
He returned to his search when he heard her calling out his name. "Trevor?" He called, pulling a tapestry to check behind it. He was starting to get impatient. He always feared the worst in situations like this. What if he got stepped on? What if Professor Snape decided to use in him in a potion? Surely he would let Neville know he'd done since a horrible thing. He shivered at the thought.
"He doesn't have a cage." Neville explained, "He doesn't like it." Of course he'd never actually told Neville he didn't like it. Trevor usually stayed still. Only hopping away sometimes. He spent most of his time in his pocket. Being as old as he was, anyway, Neville didn't expect such behavior from him.
"A-accio?" He repeated, looking at her. Of course he hadn't thought of anything like that. Would if work? Or would dead toad come sailing his way? He'd probably cry! He fumbled through his pocket in search of a wand. "You don't mind, do you? I'm not good at charms. And you're way better then me. I'd surely mess up."

'He doesn't have a cage. He doesn't like it.' She heard the boy explain, she smiled and simply said "Alright." and she continued searching through tapestry.
'A-accio?' She heard him stutter. 'You don't mind, do you? I'm not good at charms. And you're way better then me. I'd surely mess up.' She just looked at him for a moment. "If you'd like I'll work with you on it some time." And smiled.
She searched through her caramel colored shoulder bag for her wand, pulling it out simply. She sighed before saying. "Accio Trevor." She looked around the hallway's floors, awaiting for the toad to come there way. She smiled when heard a toad sound in the distance. "He's that way." And she pointed down the hallway.

"That would be great!" Neville said grinning. He was a slow learner. And usually the Professors were no good at teaching him. They'd teach and spell and expect them to be able to do it the next day. Neville Longbottom needed at least a week of good practice. He spent plenty of time in his dorm practicing. But it's hard to practice alone when you have no idea what you're doing.
He stood straight as he waited for her. It seemed like it took forever until he could hear the chirping noise of the toad. "Trevor!" He yelled out, running towards that direction. He was alive! He had the jar of crickets tucked unearth his arm. He scooped the toad into his hands and grinned. "What did I tell you 'bout running off like that?" He said quietly. Not like Trevor could understand the boy.
"Thank you so much Hermione!" He said with a large smile on his face. "I owe you."

She giggled as the boy talked to his pet. "Anytime you'd like me to help you with anything, just ask." She listened to him babble off thank yous. "We're good friends Neville, I'll help with whatever." She said politely and smiled, not near as large as his, she was just glad that he'd found his toad.
"So how was your summer, Neville?" She asked and started walking. "We should be getting to lunch, right?" She stopped and smiled awaiting for him to catch up.

"I'll remember that." Neville said with a grin. He'd still have a problem asking, though. He wasn't the kind of guy that would just ask for help. He felt embarrassed that he even needed the help. His hand absentmindedly stroked the top of Trevor. Soft croaks could be heard every so often.
"Yeah!." He said cheerfully. He was sure he was going to miss lunch looking for Trevor. "My summer was okay. Gran took me to France to visit with some relatives. She hardly let me leave he sight, though. So it was a little boring." He shrugged. All his relatives were old and not the least bit interesting. "How 'bout you, Hermione? How was your summer?"

Katie scurried from her class and down the corridors. The young blonde looked quiet a mess, her hair in a ponytail that was half fallen down, some pieces sticking out in odd directions, and her robes hanging on her frame in an odd way. She had a single book in her hands, open, as she shuffled her way down the corridors toward the Great Hall for lunch.
Most people would know that reading while walking wasn't the smartest idea to read while walking, especially for those who were coordinately challenged, such as Katie. That was the reason the teen looked so astray. She'd run clear into a suit of armor, making a lot of noise. But Katie didn't really care. She was going to read her book.
She continued down the hallway, completely absorbed in the muggle novel in her hand. Not paying attention to where she was going, she walked straight into Neville, the book falling out of her hands. "Neville!" Katie said, coming back to the real world, "Im sorry. I wasn't paying attention." She apologized, bending down and picking up the book. "I was, um, reading..." she trailed off, turning red with embarrassment. First the suit of armor and now Neville. She wasn't having much luck today. "Hello Hermione," She said, addressing the other girl.

Involved in conversation, Neville Longbottom wasn't paying much attention to his surroundings. He was no long on a wild toad search. Trevor was safely resting in her pocket. Neville's hand rested on top of the pocket to insure himself that Trevor wasn't going to get away this time. His Jar of crickets was now securely in his hands.
He felt someone collide with his him, knowing the chirping jar right from his hands. The crickets wasting no time in scurrying around the hall. Shrieks came from the students that were in the very hallway. Obviously no one was fond of the crickets.
"Oh!" He said surprised. His eyes went wide. He was having just about the worst luck anyone could have. "N-no! It's not your fa-fault!" He stuttered, his face going bright red. He assumed he had been the one that wasn't paying attention to anything but Trevor.
"Blimey!" He said quietly to himself, turning around to face the other direction. What was he supposed to do about a bunch of loose crickets in the corridor. He was going to get detention if anyone caught him with a broken jar laying beside his feet.

Katie took out her wand and pointed it at the broken glass. "Reparo," she muttered quietly. The jar repaired itself, the pieces fitting back together. She bent down and picked it up. "Sorry about the crickets," She said softly, handing the jar back to him. She really needed to pay more attention to where she walked. "Why did you have a jar of crickets with you?" She asked, her head tilting to the side.
She had hair sticking up every which way from the run in with the armor, and now with Neville. Not that Katie knew her hair gave her the resemblance to a peacock....

"Thank you." Neville said after she fixed the jar and handed it to him. "It's f-fine!" He told her, holding onto the glass tightly. "Well, your see, I lost Trevor. He's my toad." His hand fumbled in his pocket to pull of the green toad to show her. He held it out for a few seconds, turned bright red, and shoved him back into his pocket. She probably all ready knew who Trevor was. Or she just didn't care. Which would embarrass him greatly to know.
"And he likes crickets. So I went and caught them for him." He explained, doing his best to make sense. He was never that good at holding conversations. He never felt comfortable doing so. "So I thought if he heard the crickets, he might come." He left out the part of him crawling around on the floor and not realizing that he could have just used a summoning spell.
"It's not a big deal. I was going to go look around at some p-plants later, any ways. I'll just catch more while I'm down by the lake." He said shrugging. He was always embarrassed to admit his love of herbology.

"He's really cute," Katie said with a smile. She knew who Trevor was, but had never seen the frog. Personally, she thought the little animal was adorable. She felt that way with most animals, until they started getting six or more legs. Then they were creepy. And scary. Her oldest brother, Karlem, often liked to set loose his spider in her room in the summers to scare her. And often succeeded.
Even though Neville said it wasn't a big deal, Katie still felt bad that all of his crickets had escaped. And she knew it was her fault. If she would have paid attention to where she was walking, and not been so absorbed in her book, this wouldn't have happened.

"T-Thanks!" Neville stuttered with a small grin on his face. Trevor was the only animal Neville ever really liked. It didn't like big animals. They terrified him. And small animals made him squirm. When he first got Trevor, he was always hesitant to even touch him. Now all he did was worry about Trevor. "H-how're you?" He asked, trying his best a starting a conversation.

"Good, thanks," She said, "Swamped in work that Im steadily avoiding, but other than that..." She laughed quietly. The teachers weren't hesitating on giving out classwork this year. "How about you?" She asked. She rarely talked with Neville. She was glad they were having a conversation. Katie needed to get to know the people in her house better. She'd been a hermit ever since her fourth year. She was slowly but surely trying to get social again.
