ooc// YES! The title is lame. NO! I don't care. xD bic//
She looked out the window, she was on her way to Kings Cross. She was excited to see all her friends again. Harry, Ron, Ginny, Luna, and all the others. Her parents really didn't want her to come back this year, but it took a whole lot of convincing. She sighed as they pulled into the parking lot.
She'd been with Ron and Harry til this morning, then her parents came and got her, they always wanted to see her off to school.
*Click* The trunk was open, *click* she opened the car door. Her wavy brown hair fell over her shoulder. Her brown eyes were penetrated by the bright sun as she looked up into the sky. She walked around the car, and she pulled her trunk out of the car and put it onto a cart. "C'mon Hermione!" Her father called as she slammed the trunk shut and walked through the terminals of the train station.
People chatting all around her, pushing carts in different directions, entering and exiting trains, she wondered sometimes what her life would have been life if she hadn't gotten a letter to go to Hogwarts. She shrugged off that thought as she saw her entrance coming up. She looked at her parents and gave them a hug "I'll see you at Christmas." She told them as they said their farewells and she ran for the wall. Most would have crashed, but she being a witch, went straight through. She still had time before the train left, but she put her trunk where it needed to go, slung her caramel shoulder bag on and made her way to look for an empty compartment.
For it being sort of early, there were a good percentage of compartments full. But she'd found one, she pulled the door open and sat down. "I hope Ron and Harry find me. Or someone." She thought as she pulled out a book and began to read. "Another year at Hogwarts." She thought.

"Kathalina, Im not so sure this is a good idea." Said Elizabeth Breton as she pulled into the parking lot of Kings Cross Train Station, "Are you sure you don't want to just stay at home this year?" "Mum. I'll be fine. You can't pull me out of school again," Katie said, opening the car door. "Alright, alright," Her mother said with a sigh, "Here. Dont forget your book bag," Katie smiled at her mom. "Thanks Mom," She turned to her brothers, "See ya squirt," She said to her baby brother, kissing him on the forehead. "Bye Kar. See you at Christmas," Karlem smiled and nodded at her. Katie went around to the back of the car and her mother popped the trunk. She pulled her trunk out and shut the trunk. Slinging her bag over her shoulder she waved goodbye to her family before her mother drove away.
Katie turned and walked into the train station, weaving through people. She smiled when she saw the familiar brick wall between platforms Nine and Ten. She remembered how scared she had been her first year, thinking that, no matter what anyone told her, she was going to crash into that wall. She ran at it and disappeared through it, emerging on the other side where the Hogwarts Express was sitting, waiting.
She took her luggage where it would be boarded on the train and walked on the the rain. She brushed a piece of hair out of her face and started looking for an open compartment. She was shocked at how many of them were already full considering the time. She continued searching, stopping when she saw someone she recognized, "Excuse me," Katie said softly, "Is it alright if I sit here?" She asked, looking up at Hermione.

Hermione looked up from her reading when she heard the compartment door open, hoping it'd been Ron or Harry, but it wasn't, it'd been Katie. A girl she'd met during her first year. She smiled. "It's quite alright." She replied back closing her book, 'page 232.' She thought to herself, so that she could remember the book page.
She slipped the book into her bag and pulled out a small black elastic and she pulled her hair back into a neat high pony tail. "So Katie, how was your summer?" She asked. "Were your parents on the edge about letting you come back this year?" She continued on. Looking for a decent conversation to pass the time while waiting for Ron or Harrys arrival.

"Are you sure you want to go back?" The voice started Madison, who was leaning against her window with her eyes closed. She sat up and rubbed her eyes. "Hun, she'll be fine. We can't let her sit around the house. Hogwarts is safe." It was her dad this time. Her mum and dad were at again about whether she should return to Hogwarts. Her Mum, a Muggle, would rather her stay home. Where she thought it was safe. Her Dad, a Wizard, said she would be safer at Hogwarts.
"Mum, I'll be fine. Hogwarts is safe. Listen to Dad." She said, pulling her wand off of her lap and twirling it between her hands. She wasn't absolutely sure of this herself, though. After all the things that had taken place while she attended lead her to believe that maybe, just maybe, it wasn't as safe as everyone thought it was. "Listen, I'll write you everyday. I'll tell you everything that is going on. If- if things get bad, then I'll ask to come home." She found it almost hard to say. Did she want to leave Hogwarts if things got bad?
The car came to a stop right outside Kings Cross. All three got out. Madison headed to the trunk, and with the help of her Dad, pulled her trunk out. The three chatted as they walked pass several platforms.
"Write to us tonight so we know you got to school safely!" Her Mother cried, engulfing her in her arms. She planted kisses on her cheek several times. It was always hard for her to send her off to school.
Her father laughed and patted her on her back. When her mother let her go, he gave her a quick hug. "I'll miss you guys." Madison said into his shoulder.
She grabbed ahold of her cart and accepted a few more kisses from her Mum. "Bye." She said one last time, checking in all directions before she ran through the platform.
She was greeted with the familiar sight of the train. She smiled, dragging her stuff along with her. She dropped her luggage off where it belonged. She kept a small bag with her, though.
She boarded the train. Claiming an empty compartment before they were full. Madison slid into a seat beside the window. A sigh of exhaustion leaving her mouth. She was glad to be going back. Yet, terrified at the same time. Madison's eye closed, continuing the sleep from her trip to the Kings Cross.

"My summer was....better than last," She said. This was the second summer she'd been home since her father died and things at home were still strained, "It's still weird without Dad around. The house is just...too quiet. And Kasey isn't old enough to understand what's going on yet. He keeps asking when Dad'll come home," It hurt Katie every time she had to explain to her three year old little brother that their father wasn't coming home.
"Yeah." Katie said, answering Hermione's other question, "Mum was really nervous about it. But I wasn't letting her pull me out...again," She said. Her mother and father had pulled her out of Hogwarts in her second year when they heard about what all was happening with kids getting petrified and the Chamber of Secrets bit. "Mum tried to talk me out of it all summer. Even on the drive up here," Katie shook her head, "This makes three times she's tried to pull me out of school." Her mother and father had also tried to put her out during her third year when they'd heard about Sirius Black being on the loose near the school. "What about your parents?" Katie asked, "And how was your summer?"

She listened to the girl speak. "I'm sorry about your father." It'd slipped her mind that the girls father had died, it must have been hard on her, explaining to her sister that her dad wasn't coming home. She sighed.
"Almost wouldn't let me, but I some how managed to convince them to let me come back this year." Her brown eyes warm in the conversation looked down at the floor for a moment, then out of the window, at the passing scenery. She smiled. "My summer was alright, helped around the house and read most the time. Nothing really exciting." She told the girl, pushing back some free falling hair behind her ear.

"It isn't your fault. You have nothing to be sorry for," She said, offering Hermione a small smile. It wasn't anyones fault that the machinery wasn't working properly that day.
Katie chuckled lightly, "I wish I had time to read in the summers. With a four year old and a nineteen year old always coming in your room to annoy you, it's hard to do anything besides throw a shoe at them and hope they dont dodge. My brothers just adore annoying me. I barely had time to read the list of what all I needed for school this year. It took me three tries." Katie shook her head.
